| Responsibilities: |
The Development Technician will provide various engineering support for development of novel circuit protection products from initial concept, design solution through new product releasing to manufacture. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is creative, motivated, versatile, and able to accomplish. The successful individual will be responsible for the following: - Carry out technical tasks to assist engineers in development of novel circuit products
- Fabricate electronic component prototypes from designs and/or material solutions
- Leverage outside resources to assist in prototype building and evaluation
- Participate defining experiments and test protocols to evaluate prototype/material formulations
- Perform experiments and tests in electrical, mechanical, and chemical fields
- Collect data, document test procedures and conditions, analyze data, and report results
- Write short technical summaries on experimental results

| Qualifications: |
Qualifications: - Ability to take task instructions verbally, by sketch or from specification document
- Ability to assembly electronic devices. Hands-on experience in stamping, forming, soldering, epoxy coating, resistance welding, and ultrasonic welding is a plus
- Fabrication of device components. Experience in operating Brabender, extruder, plastic injection molding, and compression molding is a plus
- Perform laboratory work involving wet chemistry and dry materials. Familiarity with the preparation and formulation of inorganic and organic materials is a plus
- Ability to combine and interpret test results from multiple experiments to draw experimental conclusions or to initiate and carry out follow-up experiments under engineers' guidance
- Ability to test electronic components with accuracy a plus, experience on reliability, qualification and electrical tests
- Have basic knowledge of electronics, material science, and mechanical engineering
- Ability to document experimental procedures, processes, conditions, observations and results
- Strong computer skills required including MS-Excel, Word, and Outlook
Desired Education, Experience, and Skills: - Associate of Science degree in a technical field or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic component development preferred
- Must be result-oriented and a self-initiator with a strong desire to learn new skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced and project focused environment
- Strong teamwork effectiveness, communication, and time management skills required
